Who am I?
Hi my name is Lyn and I started my cake business over 25 years ago making novelty & celebration cakes. I now have a thriving wedding cake business run from my studio in West Sussex where I help couples bring their wedding cake dreams to reality, as well as teaching workshops & classes. I specialise in making beautiful realistic sugar & porcelain flowers.
Having obtained my teaching degree from University of Portsmouth together with a City & Guilds certificate in sugarcraft, I now teach classes in all aspects of cake decorating & sugar flowers. I am passionate about passing on my extensive knowledge to enable students to fully develop their skills.
Over the years my work has been published in various magazines and I was part of the British Sugarcraft Guild that won Gold for their branch table. I have taught for Colleges across West Sussex and Hampshire, carried out demonstrations for Schools and various organisations as well as teaching on corporate team building days.
When I am not in the studio under a cloud of icing sugar, or under a mountain of sugar flower cutters, I can be found walking the dog, playing with my lovely grandchildren or relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book.
My Mum had a garden full of beautiful shrubs and plants. That is where my love of flowers came from and I would pinch some of her flowers, take them home and recreate them from sugar. I would like to dedicate my Sugar Flower Subscription Box to her - I am sure she would of been really proud of all I have accomplished.
